Higgins Armory Museum

I chose to do my website evaluation on the “Higgins Armory Museum”. I chose this site because I don’t know anything about this museum and though it would be fun to learn a little bit about it.

The “Higgins Armory Museum” website was designed by “Daedal Creations” (www.daedalcreations.com) in 2005 and I visited this page on February 19, 2006. This site contains a lot of helpful information about everything from the history of the museum to how you can rent the “Great Hall” for a wedding reception.

The whole site flows great and is really easy to read. The theme of the site is set to medieval times and is really fun to look threw. They are very informative on how you can either call for reservations with the proper extension number or book your visits on-line. They have a very broad audience range and have plenty of programs and tours for every age group from children to adults.

The gift shop section is great. They give you three ways to order things:

In the store itself, on-line, or over the phone. They show most of there merchandise with lots of pictures which is very helpful.

Text and graphics are great. It’s easy and fun to read and all the pictures were clear and bright. The design consistency is awesome. Sometimes websites like this can go overboard to much and end up looking kind of tacky, but Higgins looked really classy and impressed me.

Over all I love the layout of the site and the graphics.  If I were to make any changes the only thing I would change would be to have better close-ups of the jewelry and souvenirs in the gift shop. Other than that I love the site and will defiantly be paying a visit to the Higgins Armory.
